Our tour includes an introduction to permaculture and its implementation at the Refugio, our approach to conservation, reforestation and biodiversity, methods of composting, breeding soil microorganisms, the production of biochar and much more. This is followed by a comfortable birdwatching-hike through our different areas: wetlands, primary and secondary rainforests, the growing food forest and the reforestation. A refreshing drink from our organic herb garden concludes the tour.
Tours are by special appointment (English, German or Spanish).

We are not a resort but a wildlife sanctuary which aims to reintegrate humans into the cycles of nature. Putting wildlife always first allows us to experience the flora and fauna in a unique way, but requires respect and openness to blend in.
If that appeals to you and you would like to stay overnight, please contact us.
Our bungalows
We have three bungalows that are overlooking a beautiful pond and rainforest. They are designated for volunteers but can be rented out upon availability. Simple but spacious, they contain either single or twin beds. Shower and composting toilets are outdoors and shared with others.
A bungalow can be rented for a donation of 35$/single or 55$/double occupancy.
Please contact us here.

Our guesthouse
Our guesthouse is a spacious (50m²/540ft²) and open bungalow facing a pond with scenic views and maximum privacy. It features a king-size bed, a living area, an ensuite bathroom with warm shower, a walk-in closet, kitchenette and electricity. However, we abstain from electric lights, noise (music only with headphones), smoking and pets to ensure that the wildlife is undisturbed.
The guesthouse can be rented for a donation of 95$/single or 120$/double occupancy.
