This is our presentation at the 9th World Conference on Ecological Restoration.

Alexander was born in Vienna, Austria. After studies in art and natural sciences in Vienna he worked as a director and stage designer in Austria, Germany and New York City. Concerned by the rampant destruction of the environment he changed course and studied soil biology and permaculture. 1998 he moved to Asia, where he was involved in various environmental and artistic projects. After Thailand, Cambodia, Bali and Sri Lanka, he eventually moved to Costa Rica in 2016 where he developed the Refugio Tinti, a wildlife sanctuary and permacultural farm. Apart from that, he develops concepts for the diversification of monocultures into profitable food forests and participates in the government project AMISTOSA, the biological corridor between the Osa Peninsula and La Amistad National Park. Alexander wurde in Wien geboren. Nach dem Studium der Kunst- und Naturwissenschaften in Wien arbeitete er als Regisseur und Bühnenbildner in Österreich, Deutschland und New York City. Besorgt über die grassierende Umweltzerstörung wechselte er Kurs und studierte Bodenbiologie, Permakultur und Systemökologie. 1998 zog er nach Asien, wo er an verschiedenen Umwelt- und Kunstprojekten beteiligt war. Über Thailand, Cambodja, Bali und Sri Lanka, gelangte er schließlich 2016 nach Costa Rica, wo er das Refugio Tinti, ein Wildschutzgebiet und permakulturelle Farm, aufbaute. Außerdem entwickelt er Konzepte für die Diversifizierung von Monokulturen in ertragreiche Waldgärten und beteiligt sich aktiv am Regierungsprojekt AMISTOSA, dem biologischen Korridor zwischen der Osa-Halbinsel und dem La Amistad-Nationalpark. Alexander nació en Viena, Austria. Tras estudiar arte y ciencias naturales en Viena, trabajó como director y escenógrafo de teatro en Austria, Alemania y Nueva York. Preocupado por la destrucción desenfrenada del medio ambiente, cambió de rumbo y estudió biología del suelo, ecología de sistemas y permacultura. En 1998 se trasladó a Asia, donde participó en varios proyectos medioambientales y artísticos. A través de Tailandia, Camboya, Bali y Sri Lanka, finalmente llegó a Costa Rica en 2016, donde estableció el Refugio Tinti, un santuario de vida silvestre y una granja de permacultura. Además, desarrolla conceptos para la diversificación de monocultivos en bosques alimentarios rentables y participa activamente en el proyecto gubernamental AMISTOSA, el corredor biológico entre la Península de Osa y el Parque Nacional La Amistad.
